The Mercury News staff visited a workshop at Hayes Elementary and captured the action!
Hi there!
Quick story I thought you would all appreciate at Schmahl. The other day I was at my desk while my students were doing their math centers. One of the centers is using wooden blocks. I overheard two of the students talking about how they were going to make a seesaw using the blocks. Then they totally AMAZED me when they started talking about how they needed a fulcrum. Then they talked about the demonstration with my student lifting the instructor and used the vocabulary load and lever! I thought you would appreciate knowing that my kiddos really loved the lessons and the knowledge stuck with them. What you guys do is so important we all appreciate it here at Hayes!
Best,
Marissa
