In the Bay Area, thousands of students participate in science fairs each year. Students struggle in project selection, lab techniques, instrumentation, model development, and project design.
Many students may be thinking about a career in scientific fields or science research, but don't have a clear idea of what it's like to work in a lab or an understanding of the concepts behind the investigations.
Our camp topics help students to gain insight into research skills and concepts, affording them the opportunity to better understand the possibilities as they begin to make choices in courses of study.
Camp students have the opportunity to sharpen skills and learn about project design while working with our experienced mentors (talented scientists and engineers) who engage students’ curiosity, imagination and creativity using a fun, hands-on approach. Students learn to apply the scientific process as well as core scientific principles, all while making exciting new discoveries.
